2009 New Jersey Corporate Business Tax Returns

New Jersey Corporations acquire a taxable status beginning either on the date of its incorporation, or on the first day of the month following its incorporation if so stated in its Certificate of Incorporation. Every corporation which incorporates, qualifies or otherwise acquires a taxable status in New Jersey must file a Corporation Business Tax return.

New Jersey S Corporations pay a lower corporate tax rate, and the shareholders report their pro rata share of S corporation income on their New Jersey individual income tax returns. The combined tax between the electing New Jersey S corporation and its shareholders generally will not exceed the 9% New Jersey Corporation Business Tax Rate. The rate is 7.5% for corporations with entire net income of $100,000 or less.
